1. What is the Dormont Countertop gas connector?

The Dormont Countertop Gas Connector is specifically designed to convey natural or LP gas to appliances located on a counter top, appliance stand or cart.

2. Why was the Dormont Countertop gas connector designed and introduced?

In 2005 when the codes changed (ANSI Z21.69/CSA 6.16), Dormont realized that in many applications where a countertop appliance was being installed, a residential grade connector was being used. The Countertop Gas Connector was specifically developed to supply the correct amount of gas required by these appliances, while keeping our customer’s kitchens safe and in compliance with the new code.

3. What are the product features?

The Countertop Gas Connector is a corrugated stainless steel gas hose wrapped with a flexible stainless steel braid. The braid protects against stretching of the connector when the appliance is moved. The connector is coated with yellow antimicrobial PVC that inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. Included with these connectors are high quality flare fittings that create a metal-to-metal seal to ensure integrity in critical applications.

4. What are the BTU capacities of the Countertop Connecter?

The Countertop Gas Connectors will convey gas flow up to 150,000 BTU’s and L/P up to 240,000 BTU’s.

5. What are the benefits?

The Countertop Gas Connector meets the standard (ANSI Z21.69/ CSA 6.16), and the flow demands of Counter-top units to ensure optimal operation of the equipment they connect. They are designed to withstand the rigors of commercial kitchens and are a flexible, easy-to-install alternative to hard pipe.

6. What sizes are available?

The Countertop Gas Connector is a ½” I.D. gas hose available in 24” and 36” lengths.

7. Should a restraining cable be used with the Countertop Gas Connector?

If the Countertop Gas Connector is used on an appliance that is moved, a restraining cable should be installed.

8. How does this product differ from the Blue Hose®?

The Countertop Gas Connector does not include Stress Guard® Technology. With that technology, the Blue Hose can withstand the rigors of movement that is put upon the connector when these large pieces of equipment are being moved. The Countertop connector is designed to withstand the occasional movement of smaller countertop units.
